Snoopy Beagle Scout Adventures Book Review

Snoopy Beagle Scout Adventures Book

This collection of Peanuts comic strips was done by Charles M. Schulz.

When I went camping in July, one of the books I packed for the trip was Snoopy Beagle Scout Adventures. It is a collection of comic strips that were illustrated by their creator, Charles M. Schulz, and is listed as being number seventeen in the line-up of collections by the publisher. Since it was mostly about Snoopy leading his troop into the woods, or the rest of the gang being drafted into summer camp, it was the perfect read for what we would be doing.

The best word to describe the numerous comics spread over 176 pages, would have to be "fun". Although it was a quick read, there were some boxes that I found myself re-reading out of sheer delight at the jokey-wit Mr. Schulz was so good at utilizing. The stories ranged from tales of Charlie Brown's trials at summer camp, to Linus's woes about the woods, and finally to Snoopy's attempts to teach Woodstock's friends important life skills from the Beagle Scout Handbook. Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and the others, are also featured in many of the pages, with activities that cover swimming lessons, getting lost on the trails, and whether or not you want to follow a lawyer into the forest.

At the end of the enjoyable read, you were able to earn your "Beagle Scout Badges" by singing a campfire song, going for a hike in the woods, identifying all of the campers in an image, and navigating successfully through a maze with a pencil. All in all, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a smile on their face, or for those who like cute stories that are a fast read.

Want to buy your own copy of the above book? I picked mine up at an indie bookshop, but you can also purchase them through any large retailer as well. If you would like to support your favorite local businesses, but they don't have it, just pop on over to Bookshop.org where you can buy any genre book and a portion of the sale goes to whichever bookshop you choose.

Thanks for reading my reviews and see ya next time!
