While ballooning was of great interest to European countries, it took considerably longer for the United States to enter the field. When it did begin to take off, there were a few men who were the main driving force for taking balloons to unimaginable heights in the 1800s. And as the Civil War broke out, the Union Army formed its very own Ballooning Corps. Who were these civilian soldiers, and how did President Lincoln help in establishing their role in the military? And you won’t want to miss a fundamental connection to Lancaster, PA!

Paint A Book From a Brick

Looking to add a bookish element to your garden or landscaping this year? Join us for a creative and fun afternoon painting bricks into our favorite stories with Sarah Ickes. Supplies are included in the fee.
Stencils will be provided, with additional images/shapes that can be printed off during the class as aids.
Class Fee: $15.00*
*All bricks will have the base coats completed.
PA Tea Festival - Sip and Paint Craft

PA Tea Festival - Author Tent
Paint a charming and decorative 6-inch x 8-inch colorful flat wooden lightweight teacup to hang on your wall. Fine art artist and talented author Sarah Ickes will guide you during this creative crafting session.
A base coat will be applied in advance, allowing you to add a variety of colors and shimmery paints to customize your teacup design.
Class Fee: $20.00*
